Both the CR-V and the HR-V have similar exterior designs and features. The front fascia is slightly different for both vehicles, with the HR-V sporting a lower grille connecting to the LED daytime running lights, whereas the CR-V has a centred active shutter grille. Exterior features that the two vehicles share include front and rear splash guards, body-coloured door handles and heated power door mirrors, rear privacy tinted glass, and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Available features include roof rails, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a one-touch power moonroof.
Differences on the exterior of the CR-V that the HR-V doesn't offer include available 18- or 19-inch wheels, folding door mirrors, a panoramic moonroof, and a power tailgate with programmable height. It comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all models above base can take advantage of the Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System. The HR-V is built with a 1.8-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a CVT and, much like the CR-V, comes standard with a Drive-by-Wire Throttle System and front-wheel drive. Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System is available on all models and comes standard on mid-tier and high-tier HR-V models.
