How to Fill your Tire with Air
Maintaining your tire's PSI (pounds per square inch) will help protect against a tire blowout. It's quick, easy and will benefit your gas mileage. Here are a few simple steps on how to fill your tire with air:
1. Buy a tire pressure gauge: This tool will allow you to check your tire pressure. You can find this at your local auto parts store.
2. Get a pump to produce air: You can manually inflate your tires by using a pump (such as a bicycle pump) or go to your nearest gas station by driving your car alongside the air dispenser and follow the directions (prices may vary).
3. Check the recommended PSI pressure: This will tell you how much air to put in your tires which can be found on the inside of the driver's door or your owner's manual.
4. Remove the valve cap from its stem and add air: Connect the pump to the valve stem located near your hubcap. Add air if the reading from your air pressure gauge is lower than it should be, or bleed air if the reading is higher. (To bleed air, press the center of the pin in the valve).
5. Replace to valve cap back onto its stem: Make sure the cap is secure.
Repeat this process for each tire.
